Lillie is a British television drama worked out in a mini series format that starred Fransesca Annis as the titular character. The series was created by the London Weekend Television for the ITV broadcasting network. It is perhaps of note to say that the actress who portrays the title character, Fransesca Annis, also portrayed the same character in the 1970s serial Edward the Seventh. It comes as no surprise, then, to learn than many, if not most, of the same people behind that series also helped to create Lillie. Lillie is currently on offer for DVD in both the United Kingdoms and Northern America. It has received a great deal of air time on the UKTV Drama Network. The series was adapted from the novel, The Prince and Lillie, by author James Brough. The plot of the series revolves around Lillie breaking societal conventions through her fantastical manner her her various pursuits of men, or they of her, despite the fact that she was married, albeit, unhappily.
