Ed and Martine are a couple who have been living in their home for several years. Although they've grown to love their neighborhood and community, they've found that their house no longer suits their needs. The kitchen is cramped and outdated, the layout is awkward, and the lack of storage space has become a major issue.

Enter Love It or List It's expert designer, Hilary Farr, and real estate agent, David Visentin. Hilary believes she can transform their home into the one they've always wanted, while David has the task of finding them a new home that meets all of their requirements.

The couple's wish list for their new home includes an open concept layout, a larger kitchen with ample storage space, a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, and a backyard for their dog. She removes a wall between the kitchen and living room to create a more open space and installs new cabinets and countertops. She also creates a new storage unit in the basement to address their storage issues. However, things don't always go according to plan when the contractor hits a snag during the renovation process.

As the project progresses, Ed and Martine begin to realize that their current home has a lot of potential and that they've developed sentimental attachments to it. However, they still have some reservations about the size and layout of the house. David brings them to see one last property, which he believes is the perfect fit for their needs.
