Love It or List It Season 2 Episode 4 The Kowalik Family

The Kowalik Family are feeling cramped in their current home and are approaching breaking point. Three generations of this family live together under one roof, with ten people sharing just two bathrooms and teenage daughter Katherine having to sleep in the living room. The Kowaliks' main issue with the house is that their layout doesn't work for them and they cannot communicate with each other effectively within the property. The family approached Love It or List It for help with their dilemma of whether to renovate their existing house or move to a new one.

Hilary and her team come up with a plan to give the family the extra space they so desperately need, by adding an extension to the property. This new space will include a new bedroom, an extra bathroom and a more open plan living and dining area. They also suggest expanding the kitchen to create a new family hub where everyone can gather and catch up with each other's day after a long day at work or school.

However, David and his team convince the family to sell their current home and move to a new property. They present them with three different houses to consider, all in neighborhoods that will give them everything they need in terms of location, amenities and living space. One of the houses has a huge backyard that would be perfect for the whole family to enjoy together, while another has multiple bedrooms and bathrooms that would cater to the Kowalik's needs.

As David and Hillary work to persuade the family with their competing visions, the family is conflicted about which option to choose. At one point it seems like the family will opt to renovate their current property, but then a new house comes onto the market that is right up their alley. It has a finished basement that would be perfect for the family to gather together and it has a landscaped back garden that ticks a lot of boxes on the family's wish list.

Throughout the show, we see how the Kowalik family wrestles with the decision of whether to love their existing house or list it. The tension mounts as the family encounters various roadblocks and unforeseen circumstances along the way. It appears that the family really have to weigh up what matters most to them in terms of their living situation and quality of life, and make the decision that suits them best.
