Lucky Dog Season 8 Episode 22 Safe and Sound

Jack Russell Terrier Mix, Max, is a positively energetic and affectionate canine who loves to play and cuddle. However, because of his excessive energy and inability to trust new people, he has been passed up for adoption multiple times. That is until Brandon McMillan steps in to train him in this week’s episode of Lucky Dog.

Brandon starts off by getting to know Max, playing with him, and eventually introducing him to his team. Brandon evaluates Max’s temperament, energy level, and other traits to determine the type of family that he would work best with. Brandon decides that a single person or couple who are always on the go would make the perfect match for Max.

Brandon works to address some of Max’s trust issues, working with him to come when called and obey basic commands. He also takes Max to a local café, where the dog practices socializing with strangers. As Max grows more accustomed to the trainer, Brandon introduces him to new and unfamiliar surroundings to prepare him for life outside the shelter.

Brandon then welcomes training expert, John to the team to help train Max in an intense training session. Together, they work on improving Max’s confidence as he continues to bond with the trainers. They take Max to a dog-friendly beach, where they share some time bonding, playing fetch, and enjoying the ocean breeze.

As Brandon pushes Max to break through his barriers, the trust between them grows. Max becomes more comfortable being handled and responds more positively to commands. Brandon decides that Max is ready for his final training phase before being ready for a new home.

Brandon meets with potential adopters, Jennifer and Gale, who have the active lifestyle that Max needs. He presents Max to Jennifer and Gale, demonstrating the training progress Max has made. The couple is more than excited to take Max home, expressing their deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication Brandon put in to rescue the dog.

In the final scene, Max is shown running and playing on a beach in his new home with his owners, showing off everything he learned during his time with Brandon. The couple describes how their lives have been filled with laughter and joy since Max came into it.

The title of this week’s episode, Safe and Sound, refers to the end goal of any rescue dog trainer. Brandon strives to help dogs like Max overcome issues that hold them back from finding a loving home. He shows that with patience, determination, and a lot of love, any dog can go from uncertain in the shelter to safe and sound in a new, loving home.
