Ep 5. Thanksgiving

Adam attempts to organize a pristine Thanksgiving feast at home with his family, however, things go absolutely haywire as his younger brother, Don (played by guest star Kevin Nealon), arrives unannounced with his overbearing wife, Marcy (played by guest star Julie Chen). Marcy insists Don gives up his call to go turkey hunting to spend the day with the family, pushing Don to secretly bring his unfinished hunting trip in with him.

While Carol becomes progressively disgruntled with Marcy’s extreme need to control everything, Andi does her best to put out fires between Adam and Don by checking off things on their “man-list,” which ultimately only leads to even bigger problems.

In one instance, Don sends Adam out on a wild mission to skirt the Thanksgiving traffic by driving through unfamiliar back roads which eventually leads them to a quicksand-filled farm. The ever the resourceful Adam has to resort to bizarre means of getting out of the farm before the incoming tide threatens to completely ruin his car.

Later that day, when the two sisters-in-law continuously butt heads, Lisa and Jennifer take things into their own hands to get them to bond, enlisting Sophia’s baking aid to make Thanksgiving cookies, only to inevitably find themselves going house-to-house, nobly attempting to replace the cookies they’ve ruined.

Things just keep getting crazier as Adam and Don attempt to skulk back into the house from their “secret mission,” struggling with tons of hunting gear in tow, into s hostile environment that is straight out of a family war zone. As the two feuding siblings square off against one another, Andi makes a monumental decision to confront Marcy on her controlling ways, insisting that the family sticks by the host’s guidelines for the day, leading to an entertaining physical battle between the two women.

Things eventually reach a boiling point, but will the family put aside their differences, come together, and save Thanksgiving the holiday before it’s too late? Tune in to watch the hilarity unfold.
