Ep 12. Everybody's A Winner

After a brief hiatus from television screens, Man With a Plan returned with yet another rib-tickling episode titled “Everybody's A Winner” in season 2. In this episode, Adam, the protagonist of the show, is seen quenching his thirst for a more challenging job, and simultaneously, consoling himself for the time-away from home that it might require.

The episode starts with Marcy coming up with a novel idea for the school project of her son Teddy -- to make a life-sized model of a human heart. In agreement, the entire Burns family pitch in and commence building a life-size heart replica from scratch. Meanwhile, Adam finds himself unhappy with his job as a contractor, and seeks a more challenging task to satiate his professional hunger.

Later in the day, Adam bumps into Bill, his former boss who has now turned successful business owner of a company for whom Adam had worked on a project years ago. Impressed with Adam's skillset and acumen, he turns to him for help to finish a critical project. The only catch? He has to move to Budapest for six months!

As Adam ponders over the decision of accepting the offer, he seems to be weighing the pros and cons of being away from home for such a long time. In the meantime, Andi and the kids begin to question Adam's decision, wondering how they will manage without him for six months. Nevertheless, Adam makes up his mind and decides to go for it.

As he embarks on his journey to Budapest, things start to get a little complicated in his absence. Andi, who is already feeling overwhelmed by taking care of the kids and managing the household chores, begins to feel more pressured when she gets roped into the annual school silent auction event.

Andi, along with her friend and neighbor, Jen, decides to team up and make a cake for the auction, but problems arise when Jen insists on baking a cake, whereas, Andi wants to buy one from the store. On the other hand, the Burns family struggles with their own set of issues as they rush to complete the heart model project on time.

In the midst of all this chaos, Andi makes a decision that she may soon come to regret. She bids on a trip to Mexico at the auction, hoping that she will be able to take a break from her everyday routine and indulge in some much-needed rest and relaxation. However, as she begins to think about it more, she realizes that leaving the kids and the house might not be the best idea, especially in the absence of Adam.

As the episode moves towards its conclusion, Adam returns to his family, only to find things in shambles. While he struggles to set things right, he comes across a realization that makes him understand that he cannot be everywhere at once, and hence reaches out to his old boss to turn down the seemingly lucrative offer of moving to Budapest.

Meanwhile, Andi, who had been feeling guilty about bidding on the trip, decides to keep the trip but asks Bill to hire a temporary nanny for the kids. With things falling back in place, Adam and Andi plan an evening celebration, only to find a surprise waiting. For reasons unknown, the heart model built by Burns family is the only item that was not auctioned off!
