Ep 20. We Got a Girl

Adam Burns, played by Matt LeBlanc, is a contractor who assumed the role of a stay-at-home dad when his wife Andi decided to go back to work. But now, Andi is also juggling motherhood and work-life balance and the couple is trying to make things work.

In this episode, titled "We Got a Girl," Adam and Andi's eldest daughter Kate gets a job at the local ice cream parlor. However, they soon realize that Kate's new boss is a little too friendly and may have ulterior motives. Meanwhile, Adam and Andi are trying to amp up their love life by attending a "Love Gurus" seminar and putting into practice all the advice they get there.

As Kate prepares for her new job, Adam and Andi quickly pick up on the air of inappropriateness surrounding Kate's new boss, Karl. Karl asks Kate out on a date and becomes quite flirtatious with her. Adam and Andi are concerned and begin to investigate Karl's intentions. They meet with the ice cream shop's owner to air their concerns but it appears that Karl has a lot of friends who are invested in him being there.

Determined to protect their daughter, Adam and Andi hatch a plan to spy on Karl during his date with Kate. They scheme to show up at the establishment under the guise of a married couple's date night. However, the plan goes awry when they realize that Karl has another girl on the side. The couple is outraged and decides to confront Karl with all their evidence.

Meanwhile, Adam and Andi try to put the advice they learned at the "Love Gurus" seminar into practice. Their intimacy has taken a hit since they both started working, and they're struggling to find ways to reignite the fire that they once had. The seminar provides some ridiculous, but interesting, advice ("buy matching underwear!" says Andi) that they eagerly embrace. However, their attempts to reignite their love life are consistently interrupted and are brought to a screeching halt when they find out about Kate's tribulations with Karl.

As the episode continues, Adam and Andi's investigation into their daughter's boss continues, and they discover that Karl is actually a player who picks up women at the ice cream store and takes them to a place called "The Lighthouse." The couple decides to warn the other parents whose daughters work at the store and confront Karl once again. They successfully put an end to Karl's behavior, with the help of the other parents.

The episode closes with Adam and Andi sitting in their car, seeing Kate happy at work. They are relieved that things turned out alright, and Andi jokingly tells Adam that maybe they should get matching underwear after all. The two share a hug, happy that they are handling everything that life is throwing at them as a couple, and also as parents.
