Ep 1. Wife-Proof

Adam Burns, an old-school contractor, has always been able to fix anything, including the problems he has faced raising his three children. However, things are about to get more complicated in Man With a Plan season 3 episode 1 titled Wife-Proof.

With his wife Andi returning to work, Adam is tasked with taking care of the household and the kids. But he soon realizes that Andi has left him a long list of instructions and notes that he must follow. The list is filled with things he must do to ensure that the house is clean and the children are taken care of properly. Adam is left feeling overwhelmed and a bit insulted by Andi's implicit distrust in his ability to handle the household.

In the meantime, Adam's old friend Don returns to town and visits him. He reveals that he has gotten married and his wife wants him to get a vasectomy, but he is hesitant. Don thinks that Adam, who has had one, can provide him with some advice. Adam suddenly becomes very popular with Don’s friends, all of whom are having similar problems. Adam realises that all of his usual friends have moved on and the only ones left are Don’s new friends who are younger and different.

As Adam struggles to keep up with all the household chores, his friends point out that he must start winning Andi's trust back by being more attentive to her needs. They suggest a few sweet gestures that Adam can do, but he finds it hard to execute them. Meanwhile, his house becomes the latest hangout spot for Don’s friends as they continue to seek Adam's advice on various personal issues.

Things take a hilarious turn when Adam's youngest daughter discovers the notes that Andi left him and decides to take matters into her own hands. She decides to become the "household police" and make sure that Adam is following all of Andi's instructions to the letter. Her surveillance of Adam’s every move makes it impossible for him to relax and enjoy his time with his friends.

As Adam continues to struggle with the challenges of taking care of the kids, the household in general, and Andi's list, a romantic spark reignites between him and Andi, leading to a hilarious and touching effort to win her back.

Man With a Plan season 3 episode 1 shows Adam trying to prove that he is capable of taking care of his family even if his wife is away. The episode is both funny and heartwarming as Adam tries to balance being the “man with a plan” and being a loving husband and father.
