The show follows the story of Gong Gi-Tae, a successful bachelor who has no intention of getting married and Joo Jang-Mi, a young woman who wants nothing more than to get married and settle down. The episode "For Whom We Cook Pancakes" continues to explore the dynamics between the two as they try to navigate their relationship.
At the beginning of the episode, Jang-Mi is shown cooking pancakes for Gi-Tae's family. She is doing her best to impress them and show them that she is a suitable candidate for Gi-Tae's future wife. Gi-Tae, on the other hand, is completely against the idea of marriage and is determined to keep Jang-Mi at arm's length. He tries to avoid her at every opportunity he gets but is somehow always pulled back into her orbit.
The tension between the two is palpable, especially when Jang-Mi accidentally spills food on Gi-Tae's shirt. He becomes angry and frustrated, seeing this as yet another attempt by Jang-Mi to force him into a relationship he doesn't want. Jang-Mi is hurt by his reaction and runs out of the house in tears.
As the episode progresses, we see both Gi-Tae and Jang-Mi struggling with their feelings for each other. Jang-Mi is convinced that there is something between them, while Gi-Tae is determined to stay single. However, as they spend more time together, they begin to realize that they enjoy each other's company and that they have more in common than they thought.
This realization is made even more apparent when Gi-Tae's ex-girlfriend shows up at his house, claiming that she still loves him and wants to get back together. Gi-Tae is initially tempted by the idea, but as he watches Jang-Mi interact with his family, he realizes that he doesn't want to let her go. He decides to break things off with his ex-girlfriend and pursue a relationship with Jang-Mi.
The episode ends on a hopeful note as Gi-Tae and Jang-Mi share a quiet moment together, both smiling at each other. It's clear that they still have a lot of work to do to make their relationship work, but for the first time, it seems like they might actually have a chance at a happy ending.
