In M*A*S*H season 7 episode 10, titled "Point of View," the episode kicks off with an injured soldier arriving at the 4077th M*A*S*H unit with an enormous hole in his chest, a wound that is too large to be saved by the unit's doctors. As he prepares to die on the operating table, the soldier's consciousness is transferred to three other people in the unit, one after another, each seeing his final moments through their own eyes.

The first person to experience the soldier's point of view is Hawkeye Pierce, who's working on another patient next to him. While he's initially unaware of the happenings on the other side, his keen senses pick up on something strange happening, and he soon realizes that he's living through the soldier's eyes. He's horrified by the sensations, the pain, and the overwhelming emotions that the dying soldier is experiencing. The episode then takes us through a glimpse of the agony that the soldier is going through as his consciousness transfers to other people in the unit.

The second person to experience the soldier's point of view is Lieutenant B.J. Honeycutt. He's in the process of trying to save another critically injured soldier when the dying soldier's consciousness shifts to him. The lieutenant is shocked to see what the soldier saw, embracing his wife and his newborn daughter in his thoughts, his entire life flashing before his eyes. B.J. comes face to face with the stark reality of how each soldier's life is just as valuable as the next, and that all around them, people are fighting to survive.

The third person to experience the soldier's point of view is Father Mulcahy. At first, the priest is confused about what's happening to him, but soon finds out that he's seeing through the eyes of the dying soldier. Father Mulcahy is struck by how alone the soldier feels and the fear that he has, even though he's surrounded by others. He also gets a glimpse of the soldier's faith and the strength that it offers him in his final moments.

As the episode comes to a close, we see the shocking reality of war and the toll that it takes on everyone involved, not just the soldiers that are fighting. It's clear that the experience of the dying soldier has touched everyone around him, and they've all been able to see a little of themselves in him.

"Point of View" is a gripping and thought-provoking episode that reminds us of the brutal realities of war, and how it affects not just the soldiers on the front lines but also those serving in support roles. The episode's unique approach of giving us a glimpse into the last moments of a dying soldier, as seen through the eyes of those around him, is a powerful reminder of the fragility of life and how we're all connected by our shared humanity.
