Ep 54. Indian Summers, Season 2: Episode 8

Set in the summer of 1935, Indian Summers returns for its second season, and plunges the viewer back into the unrelenting heat of Simla, a British hill station in the foothills of the Himalayas. Last week's episode saw tensions flare at the Sipi Fair, where Alice witnessed a brutal execution, whilst Ralph strove to keep the peace.

With civil unrest simmering in the background, the latest episode of Indian Summers sees Aafrin take matters into his own hands, as his loyalty to Ralph is called into question. Meanwhile, Alice and Charlie embark on a new venture, which soon leads them into dangerous territory.

Elsewhere, the Viceroy arrives in Simla, and with him comes a host of new faces and challenges. With the prospect of a new job on the horizon, Sooni must decide where her loyalties lie, whilst Madeleine faces a difficult decision of her own.

As the season draws towards its dramatic conclusion, tensions continue to mount in Simla, and alliances are tested like never before. With the various players vying for power and influence, it remains to be seen who will emerge victorious, and at what cost.

Indian Summers remains a compelling and thought-provoking portrayal of the dying days of the British Raj, and is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end. With stunning cinematography, complex characters, and a richly-drawn setting, this is television drama at its very best.
