Ep 14. Staircase to Heaven

Set in 1902 Toronto, Murdoch Mysteries follows the investigations of Detective William Murdoch as he solves crimes with the help of groundbreaking forensic techniques. In season 6, episode 14, titled "Staircase to Heaven," Murdoch investigates a bizarre case involving a prominent politician's wife who falls to her death down a spiral staircase.

The episode begins with the discovery of Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy), the city's coroner and Murdoch's love interest, in the process of moving out of the detective's home. Despite their recent breakup, the two maintain a professional relationship and discuss the details of the case, as Murdoch has been called to investigate the death of the wife of a wealthy politician.

As the investigation continues, Murdoch enlists the help of his colleague George Crabtree (Jonny Harris), who goes undercover as a servant to the family in order to gather more information. The two detectives soon realize that the key to solving the case lies in a hidden room in the house, which they must find and enter before the killer strikes again.

With its mix of historical accuracy and fictionalized storytelling, Murdoch Mysteries offers a unique twist on the traditional crime procedural. Season 6, episode 14, "Staircase to Heaven," is no exception, as it delivers a compelling mystery with plenty of twists and turns to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
