Fast-forward to the present day, and Tenma has started to connect the dots between a recent murder in Prague and one of his former patients, Johan. He visits a journalist who has been investigating the murders, and learns that all of the victims have been linked to a mysterious organization called the "Red Rose Mansion."
Tenma's investigation leads him to a retired detective named Lunge, who had previously been investigating Johan's case. Lunge tells Tenma about a young girl who had been connected to Johan, but who had disappeared years ago. Desperate for answers, Tenma decides to visit the Red Rose Mansion himself.
Once there, Tenma finds himself embroiled in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with a masked figure who seems to be orchestrating the murders. As the masked figure closes in on him, Tenma is forced to flee and is eventually rescued by Lunge.
