Nature's Weirdest Events is an enthralling documentary series that showcases some of the most mysterious and unusual events happening out in the wilderness. The show reveals some of the world's freakiest phenomena, from bizarre weather patterns to strange animal activity and everything in between. This episode takes place in season 2 and is titled 'Series 2, Episode 1'.

The episode begins with a strange event that occurred in America, 2013, when thousands of birds fell from the sky, and fish started washing up on the shores in their thousands too. The viewers will hear from the experts on what might have caused this catastrophic event, with the team investigating various explanations, including lack of oxygen in the environment, poisoning and extreme weather.

The next segment features an eerie location called the White Sands National Monument, where the world's largest deposit of pure gypsum sand is found. The team investigates the strange sound phenomena that occur when the sand is disturbed, and why the sand appears to hum and even roar like a jet engine. They meet with local experts who have been studying the unique acoustics of the dune fields and explore the possibilities to what causes the sound.

The third segment focuses on the treacherous semi-arid lands of California's Death Valley, where a spectacular and timely rain spell turns an inhospitable desert into a blooming oasis. The documentary features stunning footage of the desert floor transformed into a vibrant tapestry of colourful wildflowers and an unexpected array of life in a place where none appears to exist. They explore the rare phenomenon caused by rare winter rains that can turn even the driest, most barren regions of the world into a living spectacle.

The team then travels to the waters of the Gulf of California, which is famous for its large population of hammerhead sharks. On a research trip, they discover the latest twist in the intriguing social behaviour of these predators. The documentary sheds light on recent observations where these normally solitary hunters have been gathering in enormous numbers, and the programme takes part in a breath-taking dive with sharks to catch this on camera.

Finally, the documentary goes to Cornwall, UK, where thousands of pelagic, or open-sea creatures, have washed up on the shores of beaches. These jelly-like creatures are known as 'by-the-wind sailors', and they are seen here in unusually large numbers. The experts describe how these creatures navigate the world using the wind and examine how threatening an overpopulation can be to the seas.

Nature's Weirdest Events Series 2, Episode 1, is a thrilling and thought-provoking journey around the globe to explore some of the most peculiar and unexplained events in nature. From the sudden disappearance of bees to herds of elephants mourning the passing of one of their own, Nature's Weirdest Events is an adventure that helps people to better understand the forces at work in our mysterious and beautiful world.
