Juuzou Inui is a man with a unique profession, which sets him apart from the rest of society. He is a cyborg, and his job is to deal with fellow enhanced humans who have gone rogue. As a result of a failed experiment, his head was replaced with a large, gun-shaped object called "Beretta." This makes him a formidable force to be reckoned with. With his Beretta and his enhanced physical capabilities, Juuzou is a hero to some, but a monster to others.
In episode 6, titled "Hero," Juuzou and his partner, Mary Steinberg, take on a new job. They are hired by a man named Maurice to find a missing girl named Scarlet. Scarlet is a young girl who is a runaway from a religious cult called Spitzbergen. Her father is worried about her welfare and wants her, safely, returned home. In their search for Scarlet, Juuzou and Mary come across an abandoned building, which is the known headquarters of Spitzbergen.
Upon arriving, Juuzou and Mary are immediately met with hostility and forced to fight off a group of Spitzbergen members who attack them. After the fight, they encounter a man named Tokisada Misono, who is a Spitzbergen executive. Tokisada is a quiet, reserved character, who gives off a creepy vibe. He initially dismisses Juuzou and Mary's request to speak with Scarlet. Tokisada seems content on keeping all members of Spitzbergen away from the outside world as a means of maintaining their cult-like beliefs.
However, Juuzou and Mary manage to gain Tokisada's trust by showing him their medical equipment. As it turns out, Tokisada is fascinated by cyborgs, specifically Juuzou. He is in awe of Juuzou's use of technology and how he is able to use his Beretta in such an effective manner. Tokisada becomes more receptive to their request and eventually offers to take them to Scarlet.
After some time passes, Tokisada takes them to Scarlet's hiding place. They find out that Scarlet had been spending her time reading Juuzou's story in a novel. Scarlet is a fan of Juuzou's heroic deeds and refers to him as a hero. Juuzou, in turn, refers to her as a hero for being brave in leaving Spitzbergen and going out into the world, despite the harsh circumstances. Juuzou and Mary manage to escort Scarlet safely back to her father, completing the job assigned to them.
One of the intriguing aspects of this episode is the exploration of the notion of what it means to be a hero. Scarlet sees Juuzou as a hero because of his superhuman abilities and his willingness to risk his own life to help others. In contrast, Juuzou sees Scarlet as a hero because of her bravery in escaping the cult and facing the unknown world.
Overall, episode 6 offers a compelling storyline that further develops Juuzou's character, as well as explores various themes. We see Juuzou and Mary in action, fighting off villains, and displaying their incredible ability to work together. With its intense action scenes and intriguing plot, episode 6 of No Guns Life is a must-watch for fans of the show, and a great starting point for those who are new to the series.
