In the eighth episode of Outcast season 2 titled Mercy, the story moves forward at a fast pace. The episode starts with Kyle and Anderson trying to find a cure for the possessed in Rome. They come across a man who had previously been possessed but was now cured. He tells them that his cure was possible thanks to a man named Echols, who had been working on a cure for the possessed for years. The man leads them to Echols, and Kyle and Anderson meet him in his laboratory. Echols tells them that he has been working on a permanent cure for the possessed, and he thinks he's close to finding it.

Meanwhile, back in Rome, tensions are running high between Megan and Mark. Mark has become increasingly obsessed with the idea that he is the chosen one, and he believes that his unborn child is the key to defeating the possessed. Megan, on the other hand, is starting to doubt Mark's sanity, and she is worried that he might hurt himself or their unborn child.

In the laboratory, Kyle, Anderson, and Echols are interrupted by a group of possessed who have followed them to the lab. They manage to fend them off, but Anderson is bitten by one of them in the process. Anderson's condition quickly deteriorates, and he becomes violently ill. Kyle and Echols try to save him, but their efforts are in vain, and Anderson dies.

Back in Rome, Megan has had enough of Mark's erratic behavior, and she decides to leave him. She seeks refuge at the home of a woman named Carson, who is a former member of Mark's congregation. Carson tells Megan that Mark's obsession has driven many people away from the congregation, and that she believes Mark's obsession will ultimately lead to his downfall.

Elsewhere in Rome, Sidney is still trying to track down Joshua, who has gone into hiding. Sidney's minions are closing in on Joshua, but he manages to evade them. Joshua seeks the help of Reverend Anderson's sister, who agrees to hide him from Sidney's minions.

In the final scene of the episode, we see Kyle burying Anderson. He is distraught and angry at himself for not being able to save his friend. As he walks away from Anderson's grave, he is approached by Sidney, who tells him that he has been looking for him. Sidney tells Kyle that he needs his help to defeat Joshua and the other outcasts, and he offers to show him a way to do it. Kyle is torn, but ultimately decides to follow Sidney, setting the stage for an intense showdown in the upcoming episode.

Overall, Mercy is a gripping and emotional episode of Outcast that moves the story forward in a significant way. The loss of Anderson is a major blow to the show, and it will be interesting to see how Kyle copes with his death going forward. The tension between Megan and Mark is also reaching a boiling point, and it remains to be seen how that storyline will play out. With only a few episodes left in the season, the stage is set for an exciting and action-packed finale.
