Democracy is in crisis, undergoing changes that result in mutations and devaluation. The consequences of this crisis are not totally unpredictable. Autocracies are emerging in many countries around the world, even in Mexico. We see an emphasis on populism, a constant denial of basic human rights, skepticism for science, blaming journalists, and a strong role of charismatic leaders.
