Pandora is a science fiction series that premiered on The CW in 2019. Set in the year 2199, the show follows the journey of Jax (Priscilla Quintana), a young woman who enrolls in Earth's Space Training Academy after losing her family to an attack by the alien race, the Zatarians. Jax is determined to find answers to her family's death and uncover the truth about her own identity.

The show primarily takes place on the Earth's Space Training Academy, a prestigious institution where young adults are trained to become space cadets and protect the galaxy. Jax is a rebellious and impulsive student who often gets into trouble, but she possesses an incredible range of skills that make her stand out from her peers. She is the only one who can pilot a special spaceship designed to find and destroy the Zatarians. The spaceship is created using a rare ancient technology called the Genesis, which has been lost for hundreds of years until Jax discovers it.

As Jax navigates through her training, she meets a diverse group of students, including her roommate Atria Nine (Raechelle Banno), who is an alien from a technologically advanced planet called Adar; the charming and confident Xander Duvall (Oliver Dench), who is the son of a wealthy and powerful family; and the intelligent and reserved Greg Li (John Harlan Kim). Jax also encounters Professor Donovan Osborn (Noah Huntley), a scientist who is fascinated with the Genesis and offers to help Jax discover its true power.

At the same time, Jax is also trying to solve the mystery of her own past. She discovers that she has a rare genetic mutation that gives her special abilities, but she doesn't know how or why she has them. As she digs deeper, she uncovers a web of secrets and conspiracies that go beyond her family's death, including a government cover-up and an alien invasion that threatens the safety of the galaxy.

The show balances action, drama, and romance as the characters navigate through their personal journeys and the larger galactic conflict. Jax's relationships with her peers and mentors are central to the story, as she learns to trust and rely on others while also asserting her independence and making tough decisions. The show also explores themes of identity, morality, and the consequences of scientific advancements.

Visually, the show presents a futuristic and sleek aesthetic, with impressive sets and special effects that bring the spaceships and alien creatures to life. The costumes and makeup design are also notable, including the various uniforms and armor worn by the cadets and the intricate makeup for the different alien species. The cinematography and score also contribute to creating a suspenseful and immersive atmosphere.

Overall, Pandora is an engaging and entertaining sci-fi series that balances action, drama, and romance. With a diverse cast of characters, intriguing plotlines, and stunning visuals, the show offers a compelling and unique exploration of space and identity.

Pandora is a series that is currently running and has 2 seasons (23 episodes). The series first aired on July 16, 2019.
