Ep 1. Enter Lil' Slugger

We meet a suicidal student, a woman who is convinced she is being stalked, and a homeless man who claims to have seen the attacker up close. However, as the detectives delve deeper into the case, they begin to question whether Lil' Slugger is actually a real person or simply a figment of their collective imagination.

The episode also delves into the personal lives of the detectives assigned to the case. Mitsuhiro Maniwa is a veteran officer who is struggling to connect with his family and deal with his son's rebellious behavior. Meanwhile, his young partner, Keiichi Ikari, is eager to prove himself and make a name for himself in the force.

As the episode progresses, we see the detectives become more and more consumed by the case, with Maniwa even turning to a fortune teller for guidance.
