Ep 1. Pilot

After the Salinger family's parents die in a car accident, the oldest sibling, Charlie, is left to take care of his four younger siblings: Bailey, Julia, Claudia, and infant Owen. With the weight of the world on his shoulders, Charlie struggles to keep the family together and provide for them financially.

Each of the siblings is coping with their grief in their own way. Bailey, the second oldest, is acting out and using drugs and alcohol to numb his pain. Julia, the middle child, is withdrawn and struggling academically. Claudia, the youngest girl, is trying to find her identity through music. And Owen is just a baby, relying on his siblings for everything.

As they navigate their new reality as a family of five, they face a number of challenges. Charlie tries to find a job and keep the bills paid, while also being a parent figure to his siblings. Bailey's drug use causes problems for the family, and Julia struggles to fit in at school. Claudia finds solace in her music, but also faces the pressure of performing in front of others.

The eldest Salinger sibling also finds support in the form of his girlfriend, Kirsten, who works at the family's restaurant. But their relationship is complicated by Charlie's newfound responsibilities and the fact that Kirsten is the ex-girlfriend of his best friend.

The family also receives some help from their parents' friend and business partner, Joe, who steps in to offer advice and support as they navigate their new reality.

As the season 1 pilot comes to a close, the family must come to terms with their loss and adjust to their new lives. But they do so with the strength and love that only siblings can provide.
