Please Like Me Season 3 Episode 4 Natural Spring Water

Josh, Tom, and Ella go to a natural spring to fill up water bottles, with Josh bringing along his new fling, Charlie. As they make their way through the forest to the spring, the group discusses the time Tom had an affair with Josh's ex, Claire. Claire, who is now pregnant, comes over to Josh's house and tells him about her decision to have the baby with her new partner, Tom. Josh is taken aback but eventually comes around and helps Claire with her baby shower.

Meanwhile, Arnold's depression is getting worse, and he starts to withdraw from social situations and his relationship with Josh. Concerned, Josh invites Arnold's parents over for dinner to discuss his mental state. Arnold's father, Alan, is unsupportive and dismissive, causing tension. Later, Josh and Arnold's relationship reaches a breaking point, and they break up.

Elsewhere, Rose is enjoying her retirement but is struggling to come to terms with the fact that her son, Josh, is gay. She confides in her knitting group but is met with similar disapproval. However, during the baby shower, Rose opens up to Claire and tells her that she loves and supports Josh no matter what.

The episode ends with Josh returning to the natural spring alone, reflecting on his recent breakup and finding solace in the stillness of the forest.
