Ep 9. Vanity Affair

Ash and his friends arrive at a new city where a beauty contest is being held. The winner of the contest will get to meet the famous Pokemon stylist, Paris. The contest is being organized by a man named Raoul who wants to find the most beautiful Pokemon in the city and present it to Paris.

Ash and his friends decide to participate in the contest. The problem is that they don't have any Pokemon that can compete in a beauty contest. They decide to borrow a Pokemon from a trainer named Cyrus who has a beautiful Milotic. However, Cyrus refuses to lend his Pokemon to them. Ash and his friends are disappointed and start looking for another Pokemon that they can use.

While they are looking for a Pokemon, they meet a girl named Ursula who is also participating in the contest. Ursula has a large number of Pokemon and she is very confident that she will win the contest. She even challenges Dawn to a battle and easily defeats her. This makes Dawn even more determined to win the contest.

Ash and his friends finally find a Pokemon that they can use in the contest. It is a Buneary that belongs to a girl named Nando. Buneary is very cute and it quickly becomes a favorite of the audience.

As the contest proceeds, it becomes clear that Ursula is the favorite to win. However, Dawn and Buneary deliver a stunning performance that impresses the judges and the audience. They manage to win the first prize and get to meet Paris.

While they are waiting to meet Paris, Ursula approaches them and congratulates them on their victory. She also reveals that she has been studying Dawn's performance and has learned a lot from her. Ursula wants to become friends with Dawn and learn more from her.

Dawn is overjoyed and agrees to be friends with Ursula. However, Brock and Ash are suspicious of Ursula's motives and warn Dawn to be careful.

When they finally get to meet Paris, Dawn is excited to show her Buneary. To their surprise, Paris seems unimpressed with Buneary and starts criticizing its appearance. This upsets Dawn who had worked so hard to win the contest.

Ash and his friends soon discover that Paris is not really interested in Pokemon beauty. He is only interested in making money. He charges a large sum of money to style a Pokemon and his services are only available to the rich and famous.

This revelation upsets Dawn even more. She feels that the whole contest was a sham and that her victory was meaningless. Ursula tries to console her and promises to help her become a better trainer. She suggests that they start training together.

Dawn agrees to train with Ursula but still feels disappointed about the whole experience. As they leave the city, Brock reminds Dawn that winning is not the most important thing. He tells her that the most important thing is to enjoy the journey and to learn from it. Dawn starts to feel better and agrees with Brock.

As they continue their journey, Ash and his friends encounter new challenges and new Pokemon. They learn more about themselves and about each other. They also learn to appreciate the beauty of Pokemon in their own way.

The episode ends with Ash and his friends heading towards their next adventure, ready to face whatever challenges come their way.
