Ep 5. Cold Season

Emily Locke loves her job as the Director of Research & Development at Wayne Security, but with the constant threat of danger due to the supers and superheroes in Charm City, life is never dull. In this episode, titled "Cold Season," the employees of Wayne Security find themselves succumbing to a nasty virus making its way around the office.

As the team drops like flies, Emily takes it upon herself to disinfect the entire office, hoping to stop the spread of the virus before anyone else gets sick. Her efforts don't go unnoticed, as her boss Van Wayne begins to see the potential in her as more than just a research and development director.

Meanwhile, Teddy, one of Emily's coworkers, is struggling with a personal dilemma. He's caught between a rock and a hard place when his girlfriend invites him to the opera on the same night as game seven of the World Series. Desperate to avoid disappointing either his girlfriend or his coworkers, Teddy turns to Emily for help.

As Emily tries to come up with a solution to Teddy's problem, she also has to deal with the fallout of her own actions. Her sterilization efforts not only cost the company a fortune, but they also created a secondary problem: without any germs to fight off, the employees' immune systems have grown weakened, making them even more susceptible to illness.

With the company spiraling into chaos and Van Wayne breathing down her neck, Emily has to put aside her personal problems and find a way to fix the mess she's created. Through quick thinking and resourcefulness, she ultimately comes up with a solution that saves the day and earns her some much-deserved respect from her colleagues.

"Powerless" is a hilarious and irreverent take on the world of superheroes, with a unique focus on the regular people who have to deal with the consequences of their larger-than-life antics.
