In "Pretty Little Liars" season 2 episode 17, titled "The Blond Leading the Blind," the four main protagonists--Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily--are still reeling from the revelation that their former friend, Alison, had a secret twin sister named Courtney who was murdered instead. Furthermore, the girls are also dealing with the fact that the mysterious "A" is still tormenting them with anonymous texts and messages, always threatening to reveal their darkest secrets and ruin their lives forever.
As the episode begins, we see that the girls are having a sleepover at Spencer's house, trying to come up with a plan to catch "A" once and for all. They are also trying to keep their own secrets safe, such as Aria's relationship with her English teacher, Ezra, and Hanna's recent shoplifting habit.
However, their plans are interrupted when they receive a text from "A," inviting them to a fashion show at a local boutique. The girls decide to attend, hoping to catch "A" in the act. At the fashion show, they meet a new character named CeCe, who claims to be Alison's friend from college. CeCe is blonde and beautiful, just like Alison was, and the girls are both intrigued and suspicious of her.
While the girls are at the fashion show, they learn that Jenna is also in attendance. Jenna has been blind since the accident that killed her stepbrother, but she is still a formidable figure in their lives, especially because she seems to have some kind of connection to "A." The girls decide to follow Jenna when she leaves the fashion show, hoping to find some clues about her involvement with "A."
Their plan leads them to an abandoned warehouse, where they witness Jenna getting into a car with another mysterious figure. The girls are shocked when they realize that the driver of the car is none other than Garrett Reynolds, a police officer who has a history with both Alison and Jenna. They overhear Garrett and Jenna discussing a secret that they are keeping from the rest of the town, but they are unable to hear what it is.
The girls are also shaken by the fact that they have been spotted by Garrett, who chases after them through the abandoned warehouse. They manage to elude him and escape, but they are left with more questions than answers.
Later in the episode, Hanna's mother is arrested for stealing some money from her own company. Hanna is devastated by the news, especially because she knows that the theft was her own fault--she had borrowed the money without asking her mother and spent it on expensive clothes and accessories. The other girls gather around Hanna to comfort her and offer their support, but they are all still dealing with their own secrets and personal struggles.
The episode ends with a shocking revelation that will have major implications for the rest of the season. As the girls are leaving the fashion show, they spot CeCe talking to Noel Kahn, a popular student who has also been implicated in some of their previous adventures. Aria and Spencer decide to follow CeCe and Noel, and they witness a shocking scene: CeCe removes her wig and reveals that she is actually Alison herself, alive and well and plotting her revenge on the people who tried to kill her.
"The Blond Leading the Blind" is a thrilling episode of "Pretty Little Liars" that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. With plenty of twists and turns, and a shocking new twist at the end, this episode is a must-watch for fans of the show.
