Ep 5. Contingency

The episode "Contingency" begins with Michael Scofield starting an investigation to uncover the identity of Poseidon. He visits T-Bag and asks for his help in getting to the bottom of the matter. T-Bag is initially hesitant but when Michael lays out some evidence, he agrees to help.

Meanwhile, Sara begins to worry about her safety and that of her son's. She contacts Kellerman and asks him to provide some protection. Kellerman, who is still nursing his injuries from the previous episode, agrees to help out in any way he can.

Lincoln, on the other hand, is dealing with issues of his own. He is struggling to come to terms with the fact that Michael is alive and that he kept it a secret from him. He confides in Sheba, who provides some much-needed emotional support.

The team's investigation leads them to a shady character named Cyclops. They decide to follow him and see what he's up to. They witness him meeting with Poseidon's right-hand man A&W, and it becomes clear that they are part of a larger conspiracy.

Meanwhile, in a parallel storyline, we see Whip being held captive by Ja and Ramal. They interrogate him, hoping to extract information about Michael. Whip, who is now desperately injured, refuses to break and give in to their demands.

Back at the FBI office, Paul Kellerman and Sara are trying to piece together the clues that Michael has given them. They realize that Poseidon is a high-ranking official within the intelligence community and that he has had a hand in covering up Michael's fake death.

As the episode draws to a close, Michael and T-Bag successfully infiltrate Cyclops' hideout. They find a file that contains some very sensitive information about Poseidon's movements and plans. But before they can get out, they are discovered and a massive shootout ensues. They manage to escape, but at a great cost.

In the final scene, we see Michael piecing together the clues he has gathered so far and coming to the realization that there is more to Poseidon's scheme than he originally thought. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving us wondering what the next move is for our heroes.
