Ep 1. The Plague

In Reign season 2 episode 1, titled "The Plague," Mary and Francis had finally become king and queen of France, and they were just beginning to get settled into their new roles when the plague made its way to the kingdom. The deadly disease spread quickly, and soon the entire castle was in a panic.

One of the victims of the plague was Lady Kenna, one of Mary's closest friends and ladies-in-waiting. As Kenna fell ill, Mary and Francis grew increasingly desperate to find a cure for the plague and save those who were infected. They turned to Nostradamus, the court seer, for guidance, but even he was at a loss to stop the spread of the disease.

Meanwhile, Mary found herself dealing with more than just the plague. She was also struggling with her marriage to Francis, as he had yet to consummate their union. This led to tension and uncertainty in their relationship, which was only exacerbated by the crisis of the plague.

As the outbreak worsened, Mary and Francis were forced to make difficult decisions to try and contain it. They quarantined those who were infected, but it was difficult to keep the disease from spreading. In the end, they had to make the heartbreaking choice to burn the bodies of the dead to prevent the plague from spreading further.

"The Plague" was a tense and emotional episode that showed the many challenges that Mary and Francis faced in their new roles as king and queen. They were tested both as leaders and as a couple, and it was clear that their reign would not be an easy one. With the plague still raging, it remained to be seen how they would handle the many obstacles that lay ahead.
