Robot Combat League is a reality TV show that premiered on Syfy in February 2013. The show was hosted by WWE superstar Chris Jericho and featured 12 teams of two people each. The teams consisted of a robo-jockey and a robo-tech who worked together to control the movements of their giant, advanced battling robots.

The robots were a sight to behold with each one standing over eight feet tall, weighing up to 1000 pounds and having the ability to move with incredible speed and agility. The machines were designed with a variety of unique weapons, such as plasma cutters, chainsaws, and hydraulic arms, that the robo-jockey and robo-tech could use to defeat their opponents.

The teams of robots battled in a circular arena that was surrounded by a steel cage. The atmosphere was electric as the robots unleashed their arsenal of destruction to try and win the fight. The matches were intense and lasted three rounds, with the aim of either knocking your opponent out or destroying their robot. Each fight was judged on the basis of technical prowess, strategy, and brute force.

One of the unique aspects of Robot Combat League was the way the robots were powered. Each robot was designed to move based on the movements of its corresponding robo-jockey, who wore a motion capture suit that enabled their movements to translate seamlessly to the robot. The robo-tech, on the other hand, was responsible for the robot's weapons, repairing any damage inflicted during the match, and making sure that the robot was up and running for the next fight.

As the competition progressed, the teams faced increasingly difficult challenges, such as multiple robots matchups, tag team battles, and special themed fights. The challenges were designed to test the robo-jockey and robo-tech's skills in strategy, coordination, and teamwork under high-pressure situations.

In addition to the exciting fights, the show had a strong human element, with each team consisting of two people who had to work together to control their robot. Many of the teams had interesting backstories, such as brothers who had never worked together before, a father and son duo, and two female friends who were determined to prove that girls can also be badass robot fighters.

The show's panel of judges was made up of Robotics expert and assistant professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Dr. Heather Knight, Team USA heavyweight boxer, George Foreman III, and Mixed Martial Artist, Amanda Lucas. They provided expert commentary on the fights, evaluated the performance of the teams, and gave insightful feedback on the robot designs and tactics used by each team.

Overall, Robot Combat League was an entertaining and thrilling show that combined the excitement of robot battles with the drama of reality TV. The show was a test of not only the robots' capabilities but also the teamwork and skill of the robo-jockeys and robo-techs. With exciting challenges and a diverse cast of teams, Robot Combat League was a must-watch show for fans of sci-fi and action-packed TV shows.
