Rock the Park is an American television series that showcases stunning national parks in North America. In season 2, episode 15, the hosts, Jack Steward and Colton Smith, head to Acadia National Park, located in Maine, for an action-packed adventure.

The episode starts off with the duo exploring the rocky coastline of Acadia National Park, admiring the picturesque scenery of the Atlantic Ocean crashing into the rocky shore. They overlook the Otter Cliffs, an iconic landmark of Acadia, where visitors can find puffins and Cormorants’ nests on the surrounding cliffs. Through their exploration of the coastline, they also discover how crucial the boulders are to the ecosystem of the park, which provides homes to a diverse range of marine life.

Next, Jack and Colton set sail on a traditional Yankee fishing boat that was once used to fish in the local waters. They join a local fisherman who shares a deep love for the area and the importance of his fishing profession in this historic region of Maine. On their trip, they catch Maine lobster, one of the most popular seafood dishes in the area.

After their fishing excursion, the hosts have a chance to explore the park’s inland territory. They head to Jordan Pond, a beautiful glacially formed lake, which offers an incredible view of the surrounding mountains and forests. They learn about the unique ecosystem of the area and how it is unique from the coastal sections of the park. They then go on a hike along the Jordan Pond Path, a 3-mile trail that takes them through the native flora and fauna of the area.

The hosts continue their exploration of Acadia National Park by visiting a historically significant location, Sieur de Monts Spring. It was here that Acadia was first established in the early 20th century, and visitors can see the original building and gardens that were built in the area. Jack and Colton also discover the role Acadia played during the World War II, a time when it was utilized as an intelligence post. The area is full of fascinating artifacts and stories from its rich past.

The episode ends with the hosts rounding out their exploration of Acadia at a spot that most visitors miss, but one of the most iconic locations in the park – The Great Head Trail. This is a challenging hike that takes them through pine trees, over boulders, and along the coastline, rewarding them with a stunning view of Sand Beach, one of the few sand beaches on the east coast of the United States. Jack and Colton also discuss the importance of preserving national parks and the role the public has to play in keeping them protected.

In this episode, viewers will be treated to the magnificent natural scenery of Acadia National Park and its diverse ecosystem. The host’s enthusiasm for the park and its history is contagious, and anyone watching will come away with a newfound appreciation for the area as well as a greater understanding of the importance of preserving these natural wonders for generations to come.
