Ep 1. I'm That Bitch

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 episode 1 is entitled "I'm That Bitch". The show starts with a bang as the 13 new drag queens make their entrance into the workroom. They are all dressed to impress and ready to become America's next drag superstar. The judges this season are RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Ross Mathews, and Carson Kressley.

The queens are immediately given their first challenge: to create a look inspired by their hometowns. They are given 30 minutes to get into their outfits and makeup, and then they are ready to present to the judges. The queens pull out all the stops with their creative and diverse looks, ranging from New York City to the small town of Clarksville, Arkansas.

As with any first episode, there are always a few queens that stand out. In this episode, two contenders emerge as the front-runners. Gigi Goode, a 21-year-old from Los Angeles, delivers an effortlessly chic look inspired by Malibu, while Widow Von’Du, a 30-year-old from Kansas City, stuns the judges with a bold and sassy ensemble inspired by her hometown.

The first challenge is followed by a lip sync battle for the chance to stay in the competition. This season, the twist is that the queen who wins the first round of lip sync battles gets to send one of the losing queens home. The two queens battling it out are Dahlia Sin and Nicky Doll. Both queens give it their all, but only one can stay. Who will come out on top?

Throughout the show, we get to know the queens better through confessionals and interactions with each other. We learn about their struggles and successes in their careers as drag queens, as well as their personal stories. Some queens talk about their families and how they came to accept their choice to do drag, while others talk about their struggles with self-doubt and insecurities.

All in all, RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 episode 1 is a fantastic start to another amazing season of drag queens competing for the title of America's next drag superstar. It's inspiring to see so many talented queens coming from all walks of life, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us.
