In RuPaul's Drag Race season 2 episode 3 titled "Country Queens," the remaining contestants are tasked with creating their own country personas in a group challenge. The queens are divided into two teams and must come up with a country music video concept as well as a performance to go along with it.
Team Shangela, consisting of Shangela, Tyra Sanchez, and Raven, choose a wild west theme for their video, while Team Tatianna, made up of Tatianna, Jujubee, and Pandora Boxx, opt for a more traditional country vibe. Each queen is given a specific role in the video, from a cowboy to a saloon girl to a sheriff.
As the teams work on their concepts, tensions start to rise. Shangela takes on the role of team leader, but her bossy attitude rubs some of her teammates the wrong way. Tatianna also struggles as the leader of her team, finding it difficult to make decisions and keep everyone on track.
Once the videos are filmed, it's time for the country performance on the main stage. Each team performs their country hit, complete with choreography and costume changes. Guest judges Jessica Simpson and designer Jeffrey Moran critique the performances and offer their feedback.
In addition to the group challenge, the queens also have to showcase their individual country personas on the runway in a "Down on the Farm" fashion show. The judges praise some of the queens' looks, while others receive harsh criticism for their lackluster outfits.
At the end of the episode, one queen is named the winner of the challenge, while two bottom queens are placed in the bottom two. They are then tasked with lip syncing for their life in hopes of avoiding elimination.
"Country Queens" is a fun-filled episode that showcases the creativity and versatility of the remaining queens. With catchy country tunes, elaborate costumes, and dramatic performances, this episode is sure to entertain Drag Race fans.
