"Rush" is a TV drama set in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It revolves around the story of police tactical response, or SWAT, members of an elite Aussie police unit. John Edwards was the show runner while Endemol Australia, the same people who brought you "Big Brother," are the production team. The Victoria Police Critical Incident Response Team in "Rush" is highly trained and motivated. They're called in to only the most serious incidents. The team has six main members. The show centers around Leon Broznic, the intelligence officer, Superintendent Kerry Vincent, and the personal and professional lives of several team members. Most episodes deal with one major situation with several sub-plots involving team member's personal situations. Only a portion team members are featured on an episode. Originally called "Rapid Response," the police show runs for 45 minutes per episode and stars Rodger Corser as Senior Sgt.Lawson Blake and Callan Mulvey as Sgt. Brendan "Josh" Joshua. Jolene Anderson stars as Sgt. Shannon Henry. Antony Starr, Nicole da Silva, and Claire van der Boom also have featured roles. The show was filmed around Melbourne so features very realistic settings. It's heavy on inner story and interactive dialog while also featuring tactical police situations.
