In this episode of Salvage Hunters, the team embarks on another exciting adventure as they try to uncover hidden treasures from various locations. The show follows Drew Pritchard, a skilled antique dealer and restoration expert, and his team as they travel around the UK and beyond in search of valuable items to add to their collection.
The episode starts off with Drew and his long-time friend and co-worker Tee, arriving at a beautiful country house in Bedfordshire. The team had received a tip-off about a collection of antiques and vintage items that might interest them. As they pull up the driveway, they are met by the owner who shows them around the house.
The first thing that catches Drew's eye is a beautiful carved wooden fireplace surround. The intricate details and the quality of workmanship are stunning, and Drew is immediately drawn to it. The owner reveals that the piece was salvaged from a house that was being demolished and has been sitting in the attic for years. After a bit of negotiation, Drew manages to strike a deal with the owner and takes the fireplace surround off his hands.
Next, the team heads over to an old naval training base in Portsmouth. Drew and Tee had heard that there were some interesting items to be found there, including some vintage diving gear and naval memorabilia. As they make their way through the abandoned warehouses, Drew spots an old wooden trunk sitting in a corner covered in dust. Upon closer inspection, they discover that the trunk belonged to a former navy officer who had served in World War I.
Inside the trunk, they find various personal items such as photos, letters, and medals. Drew is thrilled with the find and decides to purchase the trunk along with the diving gear and other naval items they had come for.
The final stop for Drew and Tee in this episode is a dilapidated old house on the outskirts of Bristol. The owner had contacted Drew, saying that she had inherited the property from her grandfather, who had spent years collecting various antiques and curiosities. Upon arrival, they are welcomed by the owner, who takes them on a tour of the house.
In one of the rooms, they come across a large collection of taxidermy animals. The owner reveals that her grandfather had been an avid hunter and had traveled the world collecting these specimens. Although they do not normally deal in taxidermy, Drew is fascinated by the collection and decides to make an offer for some of the pieces.
After a bit of haggling, the team manages to acquire a few choice pieces, including a rare African lion and a pair of exquisitely preserved deer antlers.
Throughout the episode, we get to see Drew and his team in action as they negotiate deals, transport their finds back to their showroom, and restore some of the items to their former glory. Salvage Hunters is not just a show about antiques and vintage items, it's also about the people and stories behind them. Each episode offers a glimpse into the fascinating world of salvage and restoration, and this episode is no exception. If you're a fan of the show, then episode 13 is a must-watch.
