In this episode of Science of Stupid titled "Don't Lose Your Lunch," viewers are taken through a series of hilarious and cringe-worthy moments from around the world that showcase what can go wrong when people take risks with their food. From attempting to devour a massive burger in record time to trying out bizarre food combinations, the show explores all the ways things can go wrong in the kitchen and beyond.

The episode starts off with a bang as we see a chef trying to create a huge pasta dish by tossing it up in the air, only to have it come back down all over his face. We then move on to various clips of people attempting to deep-fry anything and everything, from Oreos to pickles, but ending up with disastrous results. From there, we see a slew of people attempting to eat spicy foods, including the world's hottest pepper, only to end up coughing, gagging, and sometimes even throwing up.

One particularly cringe-worthy moment involves a man trying to swallow a live goldfish whole. Needless to say, it doesn't end well. We see him coughing and gagging as the fish seems to get stuck in his throat. Thankfully, he eventually manages to cough it back up, after which the camera shows the fish swimming peacefully back in its bowl.

Another moment that is both hilarious and painful to watch involves a man attempting to eat a cactus. He seems to be doing fine at first, but then starts to choke as the prickly spines get caught in his throat. His friends try to help him by pulling them out, but it only seems to make things worse. In the end, he manages to cough up the prickles and spits them out onto the ground. Lesson learned: don't try to eat a cactus!

The episode also includes segments on people attempting to break food-related records, such as the most number of pancakes eaten in one sitting. We see some amazing feats of endurance, but also some truly disgusting moments as people struggle to stomach massive amounts of food. At one point, we even see a man who is so full that he ends up puking all over the table.

Throughout all of these moments, Science of Stupid provides helpful explanations for why things go wrong, using slow-motion footage and animations to show how the human body reacts to different stimuli. We learn why it's so hard to eat extremely spicy foods (hint: it has to do with the pain receptors in our mouths), and why deep-frying anything that isn't meant to be deep-fried is a recipe for disaster (get it?).

In the end, Science of Stupid's "Don't Lose Your Lunch" episode is a hilarious and informative look at all the ways we can mess up with food. Whether it's attempting to eat a live goldfish or breaking a pancake-eating record, the show proves that sometimes, it's better to just stick with the basics.
