Ep 3. Desperate Housewife

In the third episode of Scorned: Love Kills season 1, titled "Desperate Housewife," viewers are introduced to Linda Riss and her tumultuous relationship with her lover and killer, Burt Pugach.

Linda is a young woman living in the 1950s who falls for Burt, a charming and wealthy man who promises to give her the life she's always dreamed of. Despite the fact that Burt is already married, Linda becomes infatuated with him and the two begin an affair.

As their relationship continues, Burt's possessiveness and jealousy begin to escalate. He becomes increasingly controlling, isolating Linda from her friends and family and even going so far as to hire a group of men to attack her when she tries to leave him.

Despite the abuse, Linda remains committed to Burt, even agreeing to marry him when he proposes. However, their happiness is short-lived as Linda soon discovers that Burt's promise of a lavish lifestyle was all a lie. He is deeply in debt and unable to provide for her, which leads to even more arguments and abuse.

Finally, Linda reaches her breaking point and tries to leave Burt once and for all. But in an act of desperation, Burt hires a hitman to throw lye in her face, leaving her blind and scarred for life.

The episode explores the lengths that some people will go to in the name of love and obsession, but also serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of ignoring warning signs and staying in an abusive relationship.
