Ep 9. Hunting Grounds

In Snake City season 5 episode 9, titled "Hunting Grounds," viewers are taken on a journey through the African savannah as expert snake catchers Simon and Siouxsie search for some of the deadliest snakes in Africa. The duo is called in to investigate a sanctuary that is built over an area with a high concentration of venomous snakes. As they continue their search, they find more black mambas, some hiding in the bushes, and others coiled up in the sun, ready to strike. They must be careful not to disturb them as they could provoke an attack. Simon and Siouxsie must get close enough to catch the mambas, but not so close that they put themselves in danger.

The snake catchers' skills are put to the test when they encounter a highly venomous puff adder. They manage to catch the snake without incident and explain how incredibly dangerous it is if you are bitten by one. They demonstrate how the snake remains hidden most of the time and why it is challenging to spot in the wild.

The team comes across a large male black mamba, one of the most aggressive and dangerous species of snakes in Africa. The catchers know that they need to get it out, but it is much larger than the other snakes they have caught. They must be extra careful and strategize on how to capture the black mamba without putting themselves in danger.
