Ep 6. Brandi Hungerford & Robert Lemke

Brandi Hungerford and Robert Lemke seem like the perfect couple on the surface. Young and in love, they share a passion for hunting and the outdoors. But their idyllic life comes crashing down when police are called to their home to find Robert dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Initially, Brandi claims that her husband must have accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun. But as investigators dig deeper, they discover a web of lies and deceit that would unravel the couple's supposedly happy facade.

It turns out that Brandi had been having an affair with another man and had even gone so far as to ask him to help her kill Robert. When the man refused, Brandi turned to her son's friend, a 19-year-old named Christopher Leonard. She convinced him to carry out the murder in exchange for a $1,500 payout.

As the investigation unfolds, both Brandi and Christopher are arrested and charged with first-degree murder. But the story only becomes more twisted from there. It's revealed that Robert had actually been planning to divorce Brandi and take their son with him. This betrayal was apparently too much for Brandi to handle, leading her to resort to murder.

But there's still one more surprise in store. During the trial, it's revealed that Brandi had actually attempted to kill her first husband as well, by tampering with the brakes on his car. This leads to her receiving an additional sentence of 20 years to life.
