Susan Wright was a 26-year-old mother of two who, on the surface, seemed to have it all together. She was happily married to her husband, Jeff, and they had two young boys. But as the saying goes, looks can be deceiving.

On January 13, 2003, Jeff Wright disappeared from their home in Houston, Texas. Susan claimed that he had left in the middle of the night after they had a fight, but she didn't know where he had gone. She told the police that he had a drug problem and was probably staying with his dealer.

But as the days turned into weeks, the police began to suspect that something more sinister had happened to Jeff. Susan's behavior was suspicious, to say the least. She seemed indifferent to his disappearance, and even seemed relieved that he was gone. And when the police searched their home, they found evidence that suggested that Jeff had been killed in the house.

The evidence against Susan was overwhelming. There was bloodstains in the house, and Jeff's body was eventually found buried in the backyard. Susan's story about Jeff leaving after a fight didn't hold up to scrutiny, as there were signs of a struggle in the house. And perhaps most damning of all, Susan had made several trips to buy bags of concrete mix in the days after Jeff's disappearance.

Susan was eventually arrested and charged with murder. But at her trial, she claimed that she had killed Jeff in self-defense. She claimed that he had been abusive towards her for years, and that he had attacked her on the night of his disappearance.

The jury didn't believe Susan's story. They found her guilty of murder, and she was sentenced to 25 years in prison. But even now, nearly two decades later, some people believe that Susan may have been telling the truth about being abused by Jeff.
