However, everything changed on the night of July 19, 2000, when Tom Fryman was found brutally murdered in the couple's home. The crime scene was described as "one of the bloodiest" that local law enforcement had ever seen. Tom had been hit in the head with a blunt object several times, and there was evidence of a struggle.
