I Am JFK Jr. is a heart-warming tribute to John F. Kennedy Jr., the beloved American icon who passed away tragically in a plane crash in 1999. From there, the special delves into JFK Jr.'s childhood, tracing his early years growing up at the White House and later attending Brown University, where he was an accomplished athlete and scholar. The special also explores JFK Jr.'s early career as a journalist, including his years at People magazine, where he famously graced the cover as "the sexiest man alive."

Next, the special turns to JFK Jr.'s later years, including his marriage to Carolyn Bessette and their untimely deaths in 1999. Interviews with friends such as Matt Berman and John Perry Barlow, who were with JFK Jr. and Carolyn on their final trip, offer never-before-seen insights into the couple's final hours.

In addition to highlighting JFK Jr.'s impact on American culture, I Am JFK Jr. also pays tribute to his philanthropic efforts. Viewers will learn about JFK Jr.'s founding of the award-winning magazine George, which sought to merge politics with pop culture, as well as his involvement in numerous charities and nonprofits, including the Robin Hood Foundation and the Reaching Up to D.C. Foundation.

Throughout the special, viewers are treated to never-before-seen footage of JFK Jr., both in private and in public settings.
