Anna Faris and Oliver Hudson are back as divorced couple Lena and Martin in the second season of ABC's comedy series Splitting Up Together. In season one, the audience saw the duo navigate the ups and downs of co-parenting their three children, while living in the same house and alternating weekly as the main parent.

Season two picks up a few months after the events of the season one finale, with Lena and Martin pursuing their own lives, but still intertwined as co-parents of their kids Mason, Mae, and Milo. However, Lena has moved out of the house and into her own apartment, signaling a new chapter in their separation.

In the season two premiere episode titled "Sign Language", Lena and Martin's communication skill is put to the test when they both go on a date on the same night. Martin has an awkward encounter with Lisa (Monica Barbaro), a woman he met online, while Lena has trouble connecting with her date Wes (Trent Garrett) due to a language barrier. Wes is deaf and Lena struggles with communicating with him through sign language.

Despite their own romantic entanglements, Lena and Martin are still invested in each other's love lives to an extent, as they want to make sure the other is moving on in a healthy way. This leads to some comical situations as they try to assist each other from afar while dealing with their own struggles.

Meanwhile, the kids are also adjusting to their new dynamic, with Mason discovering the joys of living in two houses and Mae feeling the strain of her parents' split on her own social life. Milo, on the other hand, is blissfully unaware of the situation and continues to be his adorable self.

As always, the show balances its humor with poignant moments as it tackles issues such as co-parenting, divorce, and the complexities of modern relationships. With Lena and Martin's separation becoming more permanent, the audience can expect to see them both experience ups and downs, while learning to navigate their new lives as single parents.

The season two premiere of Splitting Up Together promises to deliver the same brand of witty humor and relatable storytelling that the first season was celebrated for. With its talented cast and top-notch writing, fans can expect another entertaining and heartfelt season.
