In Story of Yanxi Palace season 1 episode 46, we see Wei Yingluo's double life unfolding as she tries to save her friend Tanxiang from the palace walls. In a parallel track, Hai Lan Cha, the favored concubine, is struggling with her own demons as her mother brings up a past mistake which she thought was long buried. Her turmoil is only amplified when the emperor visits her chambers and confronts her about her past and her true intentions.

Her mission gets more complicated when the powerful and influential eunuch Huan Wang reveals his true intentions and a fierce showdown between him and Wei Yingluo ensues.
