Ep 11. Showdown

Superman: The Fleischer Cartoons is a classic animated series that aired in the 1940s. Season 1, episode 11, titled "Showdown," sees Superman going up against his arch-nemesis, the evil scientist Lex Luthor.

The next day, Clark receives a distress signal from Luthor's secret island hideout. Superman arrives on the island to find that Luthor has created a giant robot, which he plans to use to defeat Superman. The robot is controlled by a radio signal, which Luthor uses to send it after his nemesis.

Superman and the robot engage in an epic battle, which takes them all over Luthor's island. The robot is powerful, but Superman's superhuman strength and speed give him an advantage. They exchange blows until finally, Superman manages to knock the robot off a cliff and into the ocean.

Thinking the battle is over, Superman flies away. However, Luthor isn't finished yet. He activates a self-destruct mechanism on the island, which will cause it to explode in ten minutes. He also sends a missile after Superman, which the hero manages to intercept and divert out to sea.

Superman returns to Luthor's secret island to stop the self-destruct mechanism. He manages to find the device and disarm it just in the nick of time, saving the island from certain destruction.

The episode ends with Superman flying back to Metropolis, knowing that Luthor will never stop trying to destroy him. The showdown may be over for now, but it's only a matter of time before Luthor strikes again.
