Ep 2. The Ryder Family and The Schwartz Family
- July 13, 2011
In Supernanny UK season 7 episode 2, viewers are introduced to two families in desperate need of Jo Frost's help: The Ryder family and The Schwartz family.
The Ryder family consists of parents Jon and Charlotte, and their four children: 11-year-old Emily, 7-year-old Samuel, 5-year-old Megan, and 3-year-old Molly. The family is struggling to manage their children's behavior, particularly when it comes to bedtime routines and getting ready for school in the morning. Emily in particular is having a tough time, as she often speaks to her parents and siblings in a rude and disrespectful manner.
The Schwartz family is made up of parents Rob and Nicki, and their three children: 8-year-old twins Charlie and Ellie, and 5-year-old Olivia. The family is struggling with sibling rivalry and fighting, with the twins constantly bickering and picking on their younger sister. In addition, the family's mealtimes are chaotic and stressful, with the children refusing to eat healthy foods and constantly throwing tantrums.
As Jo Frost enters the picture, she quickly gets to work assessing both families' situations and coming up with strategies to improve their behavior. With the Ryder family, Jo teaches the parents about the importance of setting boundaries and being consistent with their expectations, particularly when it comes to bedtime routines and getting ready for school in the morning. She also works with Emily to help her manage her anger and learn more respectful ways of speaking to her family.
For the Schwartz family, Jo focuses on teaching the parents how to better communicate with each other and their children, as well as setting up a structured routine for meals and snacks. She also works with the twins to help them understand the consequences of their actions when it comes to picking on their sister, and works with Olivia to encourage her to try new foods and eat more healthily.
Throughout the episode, viewers see both families make progress and learn valuable lessons about parenting and communication. With Jo's guidance, the Ryders and the Schwartzes are able to overcome their challenges and create happier, more peaceful households.
