The main character is Skye Maverick, a hybrid human-vampire who has the power to control air. She has lived her whole life hidden away from the supernatural world after her parents died mysteriously when she was a child. On her 18th birthday, Skye’s vampire abilities start to manifest and she gets summoned to attend the Supernatural Academy. The school is a training ground for vampires, witches, fae, shifters, and other magical beings to learn how to control their powers and exist safely among humans.

At the academy, Skye meets a group of student misfits who become her close friends. There’s Ash, a powerful werewolf who acts as the alpha to a pack of younger wolves. Ryker is a broody and mysterious vampire who Skye feels an instant connection to. Emery is a bubbly witch whose inability to control her magic often leads to chaotic results. Grey is a sly fae who loves breaking rules and pushing boundaries. Together with Skye, they form an unlikely team of outcasts determined to prove they deserve to be at the exclusive supernatural school.

As Skye starts her classes on vampire history, air manipulation, and more, she also begins untangling the secrets of her family’s past. She discovers her parents were killed by an evil being called the Shadow Lord who has dark designs on taking over the supernatural realm. It becomes Skye’s mission to unravel the mystery of her parents’ murder and train hard to fulfill her destiny of stopping the Shadow Lord.

Skye faces many challenges while trying to fit in at the academy as well. The popular wolf pack led by alpha Kayla treats her as an inferior half-breed. Powerful vampires like Darius undermine her air powers as weak compared to their own brute strength. But Skye gains confidence in herself and her abilities thanks to the unwavering support of her new friends. She also grows closer to Ryker as they bond over their dark pasts and desire to protect each other.
