Svengoolie is a horror and thriller television show that combines horror movies with comedy and pop culture to create a unique viewing experience. Each episode is hosted by the titular Svengoolie, a wisecracking and pun-loving character who provides running commentary and jokes throughout the movie.

Season 1 Episode 17 is titled "Ghost of Frankenstein" and is a classic horror film that was released in 1942. The movie is the fourth installment in the Universal Studios Frankenstein series and stars Lon Chaney Jr. as the infamous monster created by Dr. Frankenstein.

At the beginning of the movie, we see the monster being transported by train to be destroyed once and for all. However, during the journey, the monster escapes and ends up in the small town of Vasaria. There, he is found by Dr. Ludwig Frankenstein, the younger brother of the original Dr. Frankenstein who created the monster.

Dr. Ludwig is determined to continue his brother's work and wants to restore the monster's damaged brain. He enlists the help of Ygor, an assistant to the original Dr. Frankenstein who has survived his own death and now lives as a hunchbacked mute. Together, they manage to find the monster and bring him back to the laboratory.

Dr. Ludwig performs the brain transplant surgery on the monster, using the brain of his assistant, Dr. Kettering. However, the procedure is not as successful as they had hoped. The monster regains some of his strength and intelligence, but he also becomes violent and erratic.

Meanwhile, the townspeople are becoming increasingly fearful of the monster and demand that he be destroyed. A mob forms and attacks the laboratory, but Dr. Ludwig and Ygor manage to save the monster and flee. They end up in the ruins of Castle Frankenstein, where they confront the ghost of the original Dr. Frankenstein and a final showdown ensues.

Throughout the movie, Svengoolie provides his trademark commentary and humor, keeping the mood light and engaging despite the dark and creepy subject matter. He throws in puns and pop culture references, making references to everything from The Three Stooges to classic horror movies.

Overall, "Ghost of Frankenstein" is a classic horror film that has stood the test of time. It's a bit dated in terms of special effects and pacing, but it still manages to be chilling and suspenseful. The addition of Svengoolie's commentary just makes it that much more fun to watch. If you're a fan of classic horror movies or just looking for a spooky good time, this episode of Svengoolie is definitely worth checking out.
