In season 2 episode 11 of Svengoolie, we find ourselves in a sinister laboratory where a mad scientist named Dr. Tom Morgan and his team are conducting experiments on a fearsome creature that they have captured from the depths of the Amazon. The creature is a giant underwater creature known as the Gill-man and the doctor is planning to train it to perform various tricks for the amusement of audiences.
However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when the creature escapes from its tank and goes on a rampage, killing several members of the team. Dr. Morgan then realizes that he needs to kill the creature before it causes any more damage but the creature is too powerful and way too smart for his traps.
Meanwhile, we meet John Agar's character Joe Hayes, a marine biologist who has traveled to the aquarium to study marine life. He becomes fascinated by the creature and decides to conduct some research on it, much to the chagrin of Dr. Morgan who is now even more determined to get rid of the creature.
As the plot thickens, Joe and a lady scientist named Helen Dobson, played by Lori Nelson, become sympathetic towards the creature and begin to realize that it is actually intelligent and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. They try to persuade Dr. Morgan to stop his cruel experiments but he refuses and instead decides to take the creature to a marine park in Florida, where it will be put on display for the masses.
The rest of the episode is action-packed as Joe and Helen race against time to rescue the creature before it's too late. They are joined by a group of concerned citizens who have also realized the importance of treating animals with kindness and compassion. They all band together to fight off Dr. Morgan and his henchmen and rescue the creature from a cruel fate.
