Ep 1. Plunder & Lightning, Part 1

Plunder & Lightning, Part 1 is the first episode of the first season of the animated television series Talespin. The episode starts with a mysterious flying boat, known as the Sea Duck, landing in the port of Cape Suzette. The boat is being piloted by Baloo, a sloth bear who works as a cargo pilot.

Baloo meets his best friend, a gray bear named Kit Cloudkicker, who is an orphan. Kit is a street urchin who has been stealing from Cape Suzette's wealthy citizens in order to survive. The Crown of Thorns is believed to have magical powers, and legend has it that whoever possesses it will rule the skies.

The Air Pirates launch a surprise attack on Cape Suzette in order to steal the Crown of Thorns. Baloo and Kit are caught in the middle of the chaos. Baloo tries to outrun the pirates in the Sea Duck, but he is eventually shot down. Kit and Baloo crash land on an island, where they find a strange man named Shere Khan, a wealthy businessman who owns a shipping company.

Shere Khan offers to help Baloo and Kit repair the Sea Duck in exchange for their help in finding the Crown of Thorns. Baloo is reluctant to get involved, but Kit convinces him to help. They eventually find the Crown of Thorns, but it is stolen by the Air Pirates.

The episode ends with Baloo, Kit, and Shere Khan forming an unlikely alliance in order to stop the Air Pirates and retrieve the Crown of Thorns.
