In this two-season animated series based on the Marvel Comics characters, Peter Parker (Josh Keaton) is a high school junior who has recently developed super powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider. He fights crime as the costumed superhero Spider-Man and works part time as a photographer for the Daily Bugle newspaper, using his access to Spider-Man action shots to earn money. He also works as a junior lab assistant along with his classmate Gwen Stacy (Lacey Chabert) for the brilliant Dr. Curt Connors Dee Bradley Baker).

At school he hangs out with Gwen and their friend Harry Osborne (James Arnold Taylor), while dealing with school bully Flash Thompson (Joshua LeBar). Although Parker begins his adventures combating small crimes, over the course of the series he has to deal with increasingly powerful and bizarre supervillains such as Doctor Octopus and Hammerhead, villains under the direction of evil mastermind Big Man.

The Spectacular Spider-Man is a series that is currently running and has 2 seasons (26 episodes). The series first aired on March 8, 2008.

The Spectacular Spider-Man Full Episode Guide

  • A new security cell at Ryker's, codenamed the Vault, opens and Spider-Man offers to be the first test subject. Unfortunately, Green Goblin traps him inside with several villains that he helped put away.

  • Green Goblin returns and black-mails Liz Allen's brother, Mark. Spider-Man tries his best to stop him, but is it too late?

  • In order to become the new Big Man, Hammerhead betrays Tombstone, Doctor Octopus and Silvermane. Now, an all out gang war has erupted in New York City, and it's up to Spider-Man to stop it.

  • Spider-Man encounters a group of super-villains, the New Enforcers, forcing him to battle Shocker, Ricohet and Ox. Meanwhile, Peter Parker's life isn't going much better.

  • Doctor Octopus, Hammerhead and Silver Sable fight over control of New York City's crime underworld.

  • When Venom reveals Spider-Man's secret identity to the world, Peter Parker's family and friends are put in jeopardy.

  • When aliens infect John Jameson with toxic spores, he begins to increase in size and strength. Seeing this as a perfect opportunity to capture Spider-Man, J. Jonah Jameson manipulates his son into becoming a super-hero.

  • Things seem to be going well for Peter Parker when he is invited to Flash Thompson's birthday party. Things change, however, when Sandman returns with a score to settle.

  • While on a tour of a condemned building that is about to be demolished with his mentor Norman Osbourne, Peter finds out that the detonators they used were sabotaged to blew up earlier then previously thought. Later, while inside a mall with her friends, Gwen gets kidnapped by one of Master Planner's henchmen, Electro; in an attempt to course her father, Captain George Stacy, into helping him out.

  • Mysterio and Kraven join the ranks of the Sinister Six (including Sandman, Rhino, Vulture and Electro) in an attempt to capture Spider-Man once and for all.

  • Spider-Man faces off against Kraven the Hunter while Peter must decide between Liz Allen and Gwen Stacy.

  • In the Season 2 premiere, Spider-Man faces a new enemy named Mysterio. Meanwhile, Peter continues his search for Eddie.

  • When Peter goes to a Halloween event, Green Goblin shows up and creates chaos, while Colonel John Jameson prepares to crash land his damaged space shuttle. It's up to Spider-Man to save the day from both catastrophes.

  • The Green Goblin breaks into Norman Osborn's secret experimental lab and sabotages Dr. Octavius' experiments, causing the scientist's manipulator arms to merge to his body and creating a new villain: Dr. Octopus!

  • Peter takes his date, next door neighbor Mary Jane Watson, to the prom, where the glamorous redhead makes her mark on the student body elite. However, when the new glider-riding threat known as the Green Goblin attacks a black-tie party attended by J. Jonah Jameson and his son John, Peter is forced to abandon his date and risk his life against the villain as Spider-Man.

  • Having failed with the Sandman, the Big Man and Norman Osborn perform a transformation on Marko's partner Alex O'Hirn, turning him into... the Rhino!

  • Criminal thug Flint Marko volunteers for an experimental process sponsored by the Big Man and Norman Osborn, and is transformed into... the Sandman! Meanwhile Peter helps his friend, Harry Osborn, join the football team.

  • Spider-Man finds himself up against a new villain-for-hire: the Shocker.

  • Dr. Connors gives himself the mutated lizard DNA serum, unaware that it was electrified by Electro in a prior lab battle. The result: a transformation that turns him into a savage humanoid lizard.

  • An electrician named Max Dillon becomes the supervillain known as Electro after a freak accident and it's up to the Spectacular Spider-Man to stop his rampage. Meanwhile, Peter tries to tutor the popular Liz Allan.

  • Adrian Toomes has just been fired from his job at Oscorp, owned by Norman Osborne. Angered at this, Toomes decides to get revenge on Norman and becomes the Vulture, creating a special flight suit that allows him to fly. As if the Vulture wasn't already a handful for Spidey, a mysterious figure who has been watching Spider-man closely, dispatches a group called the Enforcers to test his skills.
