The animated television series Ultimate Spider-Man is a superhero action/adventure series based on the Spider-Man comics published by Marvel Comics. The series is written and produced by Brian Michael Bendis and Paul Dini, alongside fellow producers Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle. Ultimate Spider-Man premiered in the U.S. on Disney XD in 2012. Season 1 contained 26 episodes. The series was renewed for a second season. Ultimate Spider-Man follows the life and adventures of Peter Parker, as voiced by Drake Bell, who has been serving the citizens of New York City as Spider-Man for one year while balancing his life as a teenager and student. Although he has battled powerful villains and saved the lives of countless civilians, he still has more to learn about how to become a greater superhero. One day, Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D, an intelligence and police force agency, offers Peter the opportunity to train to grow into a true superhero - the Ultimate Spider-Man. But before he can learn to master his own abilities, Peter has to learn to work alongside fellow teenage superheroes Iron Fist, Nova, Power Man and White Tiger. Throughout his journey to become the Ultimate Spider-Man, Peter Parker grows from an immature teenager into a genuine hero. When he is not attending classes or spending time with his friends, he trains with his fellow superheroes in secret at Midtown High and carries out missions for S.H.I.E.L.D. throughout the Marvel Universe. Ultimate Spider-Man focuses on Peter Parker's daily challenges juggling life as a regular teenager and an up-and-coming superhero. While learning to grow into his role as the Ultimate Spider-Man, Peter struggles to gain control of his powers and accept the responsibility that comes with having them. That is, until the day he learns what it means to be a superhero - and just what it will take to achieve his destiny. A production of Marvel Animation and Film Roman.
