Ep 3. Bubbles.

Taskmaster is a British television series centered on a group of comedians given a series of absurd challenges by the enigmatic Taskmaster (Greg Davies) and his assistant, Alex Horne. The show's main premise is to have the contestants attempt comedic feats that test their creativity, problem-solving skills, and willingness to do silly or even embarrassing tasks, all while being mocked and judged by their rivals.

In the third episode of the first season, titled "Bubbles," we see the remaining contestants--Frank Skinner, Josh Widdicombe, Roisin Conaty, Romesh Ranganathan, and Tim Key--compete in another round of bizarre and often absurd challenges.

One of the episode's early tasks involves filling a table with as many items as possible in one minute, with the caveat that no two items can be of the same color. This leads to some fairly creative choices, with one contestant opting to dress up in a rainbow outfit to better coordinate their offerings and another using a bicycle pump to inflate various items to create a multicolored array.

Later, the players must attempt to pop as many bubbles as possible in a set amount of time, with a twist: they can only pop bubbles with their feet. This proves to be quite challenging, with some of the competitors struggling to balance on one foot while reaching for the bubbles, while others find more creative strategies such as using their arms to keep their balance while stamping out the bubbles.

Another task involves each player building a tower made of eggs, with the ultimate goal of getting their tower to stand up without breaking any of the eggs. This proves to be a tougher challenge than it seems, with some contestants taking a more abstract approach (such as building a tower out of egg cartons) while others struggle to keep their increasingly wobbly towers from toppling over.

One of the most memorable tasks of the episode involves a giant gum ball machine, with players tasked with getting as many gum balls as possible into a bucket using only a straw. This leads to plenty of frantic blowing and sucking as contestants attempt to navigate the increasingly clogged machine, with some resorting to using their hands to scoop up stray gum balls.

As with every episode of Taskmaster, there are plenty of moments of hilarity, absurdity, and general silliness. The tension also starts to ramp up as the contestants begin to realize that they are in a serious competition, with several of them vowing to step up their game and defeat their rivals.

Overall, episode three of Taskmaster's first season is a great example of the show's unique blend of comedy, competition, and pure absurdity. Each new task presents a fresh challenge that keeps the players on their toes and the audience laughing, and the dynamic between the contestants is always entertaining to watch. For fans of British comedy, Taskmaster is a must-watch.
